Two access alternatives are available: using the own lock’s WiFi network or Ethernet.
The lock WiFi access point will became available when the lock is powered on. Due to security and power consumption reasons an optical movement detector could be included in order to minimize the time when the lock is powered and waiting for commands.
Any usual Android smartphone can be used as long as the native application is installed.
If IP network infrastructure is available on the location, the lock can be connected using a free Ethernet port on the existing switch. A software client could be offered in order to integrate the lock into the existing IT/Security infrastructure.
The WiFi and Ethernet options are exclusive.
